We were kept on our toes by the forecasts for Typhoon No. 26, but in the end, the predictions turned out to be wrong—in a good way.
The day was sunny, and conditions were generally good.
However, we decided not to push it all the way to Kerama and instead did three dives at the Chibishi Islands, which are close to Naha.
Air Temperature: 31°C, Water Temperature: 28°C, Visibility: 15–25 m
① South Nagannu, ②③ Kamiyama Labyrinth
On the first dive at South Nagannu, I explored the coral colonies and looked for small creatures I’d usually pass right by.
Among the flowery corals—highly recommended.
For the second and third dives, we headed to Kamiyama Labyrinth.
We enjoyed the underwater terrain, and on the third dive, we went a bit further out on a drift dive.
Four sea turtles were sleeping in the same spot, and I felt grateful for the peacefulness of the moment.
So, even though the ocean conditions weren’t an issue…
Many people canceled due to the typhoon forecast, so even though it veered off course…
Well, there’s nothing we can do about that, so I’d like to just shift my mindset and move forward.
