Nakaruma Sandy Bottom Drift Dive
With its exceptional clarity and abundant marine life, "Gorokunosaki" and the magnificently shaped "Shimajirisaki Hole" are recommended spots for those new to drift diving, as a step up to enjoying the open ocean.

"Nakaruma," open only on Sundays, is a rare sandy-bottomed dive site in Okinawa, offering opportunities to target large marine life that are difficult to find elsewhere, such as zebra sharks and pointed guitarfish.

Giant manta ray higher probability
This is the time of year when the giant manta ray (Oceanic manta ray), a very large ocean-dwelling species rarely seen in Japan except in limited locations such as Shimosone in the Kerama Islands, Yonaguni, and the Ogasawara Islands, is most likely to appear.
If you are confident in your skills and want to try and spot a giant manta ray at Shimosone, this time of year, when the wind shifts to the north, is highly recommended.
