Time flies—it’s already mid-September!
Summer has flown by in a flash, and the season for the Tonaki expedition has arrived.
We went on a 3-dive trip specifically to target Nakarma, available only on Sundays!
Air temp: 32°C, Water temp: 28°C, Visibility: 20 m
① Nakarma ② Go-roku-no-saki ③ Nakarma
The first dive was at Nakarma during the rising tide.
We got off to a great start by spotting a tiger shark!
We even encountered the same individual twice!
And it was great that everyone got to see it...
On top of that, we saw plenty of the creatures we’d hoped to spot, like blackfin barracuda and giant trevally.
For the second dive, we were soothed by the vibrant anthias at Go-Roku-no-Saki and observed rare species like the bordered anthias in the deeper waters.
For the final dive, we tried Nakarma again as the tide had shifted to ebb.
Here, we encountered a school of about 20 yellowtail tuna—the first time in a while.
With schools of surgeonfish and bluefin trevally, it turned out to be a dive with a completely different vibe.
It’s a shame I didn’t have a video camera at a time like this…
Well, it’s a common occurrence in diving that the best moments happen precisely when you’re not prepared…
Today’s photos were provided by our guest, Mr. H!
Thank you very much!
Meanwhile, at Manza
Air Temp: 32°C, Water Temp: 28°C, Visibility: 20–25 m
① Dream Hole ② Cross Line ③ Overhead Rock
We did three dives with plenty of variety, featuring both interesting terrain and small marine life!
The terrain is great, of course, but it’s also wonderful to be able to observe such a wide range of marine life—from giant sea turtles to Nakamoto’s gobies!
Tomorrow: Kerama drift diving!
