Okinawa has really been hit by one typhoon after another this year.

Typhoon No. 24, which is currently approaching, doesn’t have a storm-force wind zone, but why does it seem determined to make a full circle around Okinawa?

Because of this, the forecast hasn’t been great at all… but one of the great things about Okinawa is that there’s always somewhere you can dive.

Let’s choose the best option based on the conditions on any given day.

With that in mind, we had planned to do a try-dive in Kerama today.

It takes about an hour to reach a calm dive site when heading to Kerama.

The waters get rough in open areas without the protection of islands along the way, so I was worried about seasickness…

So, we decided to change our destination to the Chibishi Islands, which are only 20–30 minutes away.

The visibility in the Chibishi Islands was 20–30 m—it was absolutely beautiful!

We took it easy, relaxing among the coral and observing the underwater creatures, such as clownfish and turtles.

Even though it was a try-dive, by the third optional dive, you’d gotten quite used to it—you’d gotten a feel for neutral buoyancy and were able to swim on your own!
