Summer is in full swing in Okinawa!
On this day, there was almost no wind or waves, creating perfect sea conditions that truly deserved to be called “dead calm.”
Even from the boat heading toward the Kerama Islands, the blue of the sea stood out, and we began our dive with high expectations.
Air Temperature: 33°C Water Temperature: 26–28°C Visibility: 25–30 m
Enjoying Kerama Blue
Once underwater, we were greeted by the crystal-clear “Kerama Blue” stretching as far as the eye could see.
With sunlight streaming in, the underwater world felt like a completely different realm.
At the topographic dive site, a magical curtain of light spread out before us, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery unique to the Kerama Islands.
Soothed by leisurely swimming sea turtles
When you think of the Kerama Islands, sea turtles naturally come to mind.
On this day, too, we were able to observe them swimming leisurely up close.
Seeing sea turtles in their natural state is soothing, no matter how many times you witness it.
A Lucky Encounter with a Manta Ray!
And the highlight of the day was our encounter with a manta ray.
Their graceful swimming was both awe-inspiring and beautiful—a truly moving moment that can only be experienced underwater.
Since they’re wild animals, you can’t see them every time, but these serendipitous encounters are a major part of the appeal of diving.
It’s Fun Precisely Because the Ocean Is Different Every Day
In the Kerama Islands, the scenery and the marine life you encounter change depending on the day’s sea conditions and currents.
Some days you can enjoy coral reefs with exceptional visibility, while other days you might be blessed with encounters with large marine creatures.
That’s why there are always new discoveries no matter how many times you dive—and it’s also the reason we have so many repeat visitors.
For those considering diving in Okinawa:
“I want to dive in crystal-clear waters.”
“I want to see sea turtles.”
“If I’m lucky, I’d like to see a manta ray.”
If this sounds like you, we highly recommend diving in the Kerama Islands.
We’ll guide you through the waters of Okinawa, prioritizing safety while selecting the best dive sites for the day.
We look forward to welcoming you!
