Day 1 of the Advanced Open Water (AOW) course at Naha Seaside Park

The first dive focused on navigation.

We cover the theory in the classroom, but practicing on land is crucial...

...before putting it into practice underwater.

Everyone made it back safely!

The second dive was about fish identification.

Nowadays, with digital cameras and video, it’s easy to ask, "What kind of fish is this?"

However, since this is a training course, I explain the key identification points, and then have the students sketch the fish underwater!

At moments like that, everyone turns into an artist—rivaling even Picasso.
