It feels a little late to be saying this now, but...

The end of the rainy season in Okinawa has been officially declared.

Summer has arrived in Okinawa again this year!!

So today, we’re heading out on our Aguni expedition—with just one month left—and it’s also the first day of the Open Water course.

First up is the Aguni expedition.

With almost no swell from the typhoon, just being able to head to Aguni while basking in the summer sun is a joy in itself.

However, today marks the one-year anniversary—according to the lunar calendar—of the day a whale shark was spotted here.

Maybe we’ll see one, right?

Holding onto that hope, we got off to a great start by spotting schools of giant trevally and bluefin trevally.

We also saw the main attractions, including gray reef sharks, Napoleon wrasse, and blackfin barracuda.

But the more exciting the ocean is, the higher the expectations get...

We didn’t see it this time, but I think we will soon.
