Whether or not we can make it to Aguni Island this season is one of the big hurdles we’re facing.
The forecast was iffy again today, but… thanks to everyone’s good karma, we’re off to Aguni without a hitch!
With the World Cup kicking off—an event that happens only once every four years—it looks like we’re in for a string of sleepless nights…
Ideally, I’d like to watch it live on commercial TV…
“Why can’t we watch Nippon TV in Okinawa?”… Well, I suppose I shouldn’t be so picky.
And the Aguni expedition runs for three months, from April to July! Let’s give it our all!

The highlight, as always, is the Bigeye trevally tornado.
The sight of being surrounded by a massive school of thousands of giant trevally.
And the ever-changing shape of the school.
I never get tired of seeing it, no matter how many times I do!
And with schools of bigeye tuna, Napoleon wrasses, crowned angelfish, and sharks, this is a paradise for anyone who loves big marine life.
Tomorrow, we’re heading out on another expedition to Aguni and for drift diving in the Kerama Islands!
