It’s been mostly sunny on Okinawa Main Island since the start of the rainy season was officially announced.
That said, we’ve had a string of chilly days… but today I finally felt the summer heat.
The air temperature is 29°C, and the water temperature is finally starting to rise gradually, with the water’s clarity improving as well.
It feels like the diving season is about to kick into high gear.
Today, I went on a try-dive to the Chibishi Islands with three French guests who dropped by on a whim.
・Air temp: 29°C, Water temp: 24°C, Visibility: 25m
Since I’ve never been to France, I don’t know how familiar they are with the ocean, so I wish I’d asked them more questions.
All three of them seemed to blend seamlessly into the underwater world and thoroughly enjoyed Okinawa’s seas.
We even got to see sea turtles and plenty of scenery that can only be seen underwater!!
They mentioned they’re heading to Osaka starting tomorrow, so please make sure to enjoy Osaka to the fullest!
I’m heading out to the Chibishi Islands again tomorrow for another introductory dive!
2026 Aguni [Day Trip from Naha] Schedule!!
Early summer (May to late July) is when the fish are most abundant, marking the peak of the season!
In particular, the Big eye trevally (Gingame Aji) form swarm tornadoes as part of their courtship ritual!
It’s a sight every diver should see at least once in their lifetime.
